Twisted pair – a type of communication cable, is one or more pairs of insulated conductors twisted together (with a small number of turns per unit length), covered with a plastic sheath.

Cat5  and Cat6 cables are commonly used for Ethernet networks to transmit data between devices such as computers, routers, switches, and other network equipment.

Cat 5 – wires with four twisted pairs for the transmission of Internet signals. Cat5 cable is often chosen for a phone line to Ethernet.

It can be used for Base-T and Base-TX systems with a bandwidth of 10 to 100 Mbps. It is applicable for standard Internet and Fast Ethernet.
RJ-45 connectors are used for crimping.
It can be used for telephony and video signal transmission ( for example, from CCTV cameras).
Most products in this category do not have a protective screen. The fifth category fits when a cable up to 100 meters long is needed.
At the same time, Cat 6 has similar characteristics. Designed specifically for Gigabit Ethernet and can transmit a signal at speeds up to 10 Gb / s.
Usually, it is not possible to lay  Cat5 and Cat6  internet over power lines. If you need to run network cables in an area where power lines are present, it is crucial to call a professional.
